FAQs
What types of jobs will be available in 2011/12?
2011/12 will continue to see geological exploration activity across Chalice's projects in Eritrea, East Africa. Field geologists and supporting staff are the key roles, with the majority being sourced from within Eritrea.
It is expected we will be seeking the services of experienced project/construction management personnel and trades workers either directly or through contractors to construct and commission facilities to mine our 840,000 ounce Koka Gold Deposit. Our expectation is that there will be a heavy focus on expatriates training local workers in the construction, operation and maintenance of the mine.
Such roles will span the full spectrum of construction functions and will involve expatriate but overwhelmingly local workers.
What countries do you employ from?
Employment will likely come from a diverse range of nationalities.
Where do you currently advertise?
Electronic mediums relevant to the work type. eg. geological journals, SEEK and via our Intranet for expatriate employees. Direct advertising in Eritrea for local roles.
What is the application process?
For expatriate roles, we will continue to ask for CV's and covering letters specific to roles we are seeking to fill, with responses to a specific recruitment resource email address.
You will then be contacted by phone or email to advise of your suitability/next steps.
Only shortlisted candidates are interviewed.
Is there a specific type of candidate that you are after?
Yes! We want candidates who are not only good at their job, but are willing and competent trainers for the local Eritrean workforce and are comfortable working in remote environments.
